Electrical energy transmission
Energy is transferred through wires at high voltage to reduce current and heat loss.
Before the consumer, the voltage is reduced to a safe operating level using transformers.
Electric generator
A device that converts mechanical rotational energy into electrical energy through electromagnetic induction.
Rotation of a coil or magnet periodically changes the flux and creates an alternating voltage.
Transformer
An alternating current device that changes voltage using two coils on a common magnetic circuit.
The voltage ratio of an ideal transformer is equal to the ratio of the number of turns of its windings.

Voltage on the primary winding of the transformer.
