International system of units

A consistent system of units for recording physical quantities through seven basic units and their derivatives.

SI is a common language of measurements: writing in standard units allows you to immediately substitute data into formulas and compare results.

Unit conversion

Replacing a unit of measurement with an equal value in another unit without changing the physical value.

For example, 1 m and 100 cm describe the same length. The number and unit change, but the physical quantity itself remains the same.
